I found a new site today called Instuctables.com that has thousands of user-created do-it-yourself projects and instructions. No matter what your skill level, there are thousands of step by step for making all sorts of projects of all kinds.
Instructables.com also hosts Forums and Groups, where you can discuss your DIY ventures with other crafters and get some helpful tricks and tips.

This sounds like a great site! I have been thinking about learning to quilt so I hope there are some how tos to get me started in that.
I was surprised how many videos there were on this site and the range of topics they covered.
Instead of trying to wade your way through all the stuff on You Tube you should just head straight here.

The site is pretty new and there are a lot of ways to earn of. See our referral contest...
this certainly is great. They have every thing from home improvement to food to art: Although I have never actually constructed anything I read about on the site, I love reading about all the stuff. There is something there for everyone. Does anyone else frequent the site? Have you made anything?
